South Florida LISC serves as the
vehicle to develop and maintain a coordinated support system for
CDCs that provides a single access point for operating support,
training and technical assistance based upon the development of
program and organization standards and annual performance
measurements.

There is insufficient funding of CDCs for core operating support and
for neighborhood planning, community-building and organizational
capacity building. The linkage between operating support, training
and technical assistance needs to be strengthened. Increasing the
financial support for community development requires the development
and measurement of program and organization standards. Critical to
the success of this strategy is coordinating existing funding
efforts and expanding the resource base.
South Florida LISC will create the Community Development Support
Collaborative to serve as the vehicle for coordinated delivery of
capacity- building resources to CDCs. These include developing CDC
Core Competencies, increasing key contextual factors and the
Community Development Training Program.
